Master’s of Developmental Milestones (MDM) Program

At the age of 3-4 years, we use the following developmentally appropriate guidelines for achieving educational and developmental milestones. We use themed lesson plans, the Georgia Early Learning Development Standards (GELDS), and ECERS-3 to achieve the appropriate environment and the proper relationship between parents, preschoolers, and teachers to maximize the child’s ability to achieve these milestones.

Cognitive Skills

  • Shows curiosity and desire to learn

  • One to one correspondence
  • Understands time, temperature, weather, and weight concepts

Language Skills

  • Recites days of the week
  • Follows directions
  • Uses words to communicate ideas and feelings
  • Participates in group discussions
  • Tells a story in sequence
  • Demonstrates skills in discriminating sounds

Social/Emotional Skills

  • Shows independence in his/her choices
  • Shows affection to familiar adults by using words and actions
  • Recognizes and names the feelings of peers
  • Shows respect for peers personal space and belongings

Physical Development

  • Climbs up and down equipment without falling
  • Catches a ball or beanbag
  • Rides and steers a tricycle
  • Coordinates eye and hand movements
  • Uses scissors properly
  • Holds pencil/crayon properly
